Over the 2011-2012 school year, ASA parents, teachers, students, and friends participated in a campaign to choose the school's mascot. After nominating 64 entries into the 'Mascot Madness Tournament', the field was narrowed in the style of the NCAA's annual championship basketball tournament. The Final Four included the Griffin, Phoenix, Meerkat, and Eagle. Finally, in April 2012, after the school's Family Formal, the Griffin emerged with the top number of votes! One of our very talented school parents drew the final design.
